Open edition print of the iconic mountain 'The Bit'. Another of my Co. Tipperary scenes that will pair nicely with 'The Black Castle' and/or 'Fairy Bridge' (both of Templemore park).
This mountain known well to locals as 'The Bit' is a marker for the area in North Co. Tipperary. There is a lovely climb up the mountain that leads to vast views of 9 surrounding counties as well as the Galtee, knockmealdown and Comeragh mountains.
Legend has it that when banished from Ireland by St. Patrick, the Devil took a bite out of a mountain (The Devils Bit) and broke his tooth in the process. He spat out the piece 20 miles away and created the Rock of Cashel.
